Legend has it that the ancient Romans knew about the benefits of Lipik water. The first written documents from 1517 mention the health resort under the name “Lipička vrela”. The first artesian well with a depth of 234.7 m was drilled by hand in 1870, and the water temperature is 64 °C.
It is one of the first thermo-mineral water wells in this part of Europe. Above the spring, a small pavilion with an octagonal ground plan was built with taps from which mineral and thermal water flows, known as Antun’s or Count’s wellspring.
