Čaklovac fort is located near village Dragović, about an hour’s walk from the road Pakrac – Požega. Located on a very inaccessible terrain, hilly northern part of Psunj, deep in the woods.
The fortress was built in the 13th century, it was the easternmost defensive fortress of Križevci County. Right next to the fort, fertile, arable land stretched out, and at the foot of it the whole settlement developed.
Among visible remains, the main defensive tower, which is seen to have been pentagonal in shape, stands out. The tower had five floors, which can be clearly seen by the recesses for floor/ceiling beams, and inside the tower itself was inhabited. Remains of a Gothic fireplace, a defensive wall, a strong base of the tower and the moat of the fort are visible.
