Ljepotu središnjega požeškog gradskog trga gotovo najviše upotpunjuje zgrada Gradskoga muzeja, stopljena s najljepšim kućama povijesne jezgre.

Jedinstveni je primjer baroknoga graditeljstva, a ubraja se među najstarije kuće u gradu. lzgrađena je u 18. stoljeću, a specifična je po udubljenju u vanjskom pročelju u kojemu se i danas nalazi Gospin kip.

Muzej je ovaj barokni biser dobio na korištenje 1953. godine, a s vremenom se njegova djelatnost proširila na još dvije građanske kuće. Gradski muzej osnovan je 1924. godine zaslugom Julija Kempfa, istaknutog Požežanina.

Po svom tipu, požeski Gradski muzej je zavičajni i kompleksni, a sastoji se od četiri odjela: arheološkog, povijesnog, povijesno-umjetničkog s galerijom i etnološkog.

Beauty of central Požega city square is almost completely complemented by the City Museum building, merged with most beautiful houses in the historic center.

It is a unique example of baroque construction and is one of the oldest houses in the city. It was built in the 18th century, and is specific in its recess in the outer facade that still houses the statue of Our Lady.

The museum received this baroque pearl for use in 1953, and over time its activities expanded to two more civic houses. City Museum was founded in 1924, thanks to Julije Kempf, a prominent Požega citizen.

By its type, the City Museum of Požega is native and complex, and consists of four departments: archeological, historical, historical-artistic with gallery and ethnological.
