Sustavna istraživanja arheoloških lokaliteta u naselju Kaptol, kao i u okolici, kontinuirano traju već godinama. Nakon desetogodišnjeg istraživanja „tumula“ (grobnih humaka), započelo se i sa istraživanjem naselja. Naselje je veličine oko 7 ha, a na toj površini pretpostavlja se da je prije gotovo 2750 godina živjelo i do 1500 ljudi (za usporedbu, Kaptol danas broji oko 1300 stanovnika).

Premda se glavnina nalaza uvijek nađe u grobovima, arheolozi su i na mjestu nekadašnjeg naselja našli poveći broj ulomaka keramike, utega tkalačkog stana, te nešto metalnih predmeta. Kako je već običaj, svi materijali nakon pronalaska i restauracije bit će izloženi u Gradskom muzeju u Požegi, a ponekad i privremeno izloženi u zgradi Općine Kaptol. 

Systematic research of archeological sites in the settlement of Kaptol, as well as in the surrounding area, has been going on continuously for years. After ten years of researching the “tumulus” (grave mounds), the research of the settlement began. The settlement is about 7 ha in size, and it is assumed that up to 2750 people lived on this area almost 2750 years ago (for comparison, Kaptol today has about 1300 inhabitants).

Although most of the finds are always found in graves, archaeologists have found a large number of fragments of pottery, weights of a loom, and some metal objects on the site of the former settlement. As is customary, all materials after the discovery and restoration will be exhibited in the City Museum in Požega, and sometimes temporarily exhibited in the building of the Municipality of Kaptol.
