The parish is mentioned in 1334 in Sređani. It was renovated in 1906. Since 1953, the parish has been run by Salesian monks (SDB) of the Croatian Salesian Province of St. John Bosco.
The current parish church of St. John the Baptist was built in 1770. After being severely damaged in shelling during the Homeland War, it was completely rebuilt in 1998.
The settlements in the parish are: Badljevina, Donji Sređani, Drlež, Gornji Sređani, Omanovac.
