ZGRADA SUDA
Sv.

COURTHOUSE
Sv. Florijana St. 2, Požega, Croatia

In St. Florian Street is the Court building built in 1895 according to the designs of Zagreb architects Julij Deutsch and Leo Höningsberg. A statue of St. Florian, the work of the Zagreb sculptor Ludwig Lubinski, was placed in a niche on the building, which stood in that place until 1949, when it was removed from the niche, smashed, and it walled up.
More than half a century later, in 2006, a new statue of St. Florijana, a work of art by the academic sculptor Mladen Šimunović, fills a restored niche on the front of the former Financial Directorate, and today the court building.
There is also the street of Dragutin Lerman, a Croatian explorer and travel writer born in Požega. A memorial plaque has been placed on the front of the building where he was born as a sign of gratitude to this famous africanologist and writer.
